Let the AI crawlers reach your pages
You can do everything right, great reviews, clear content, perfect profile, and still be invisible to ChatGPT, because one setting you never touched is blocking the bots that read your site. It's the quiet mistake that undoes all the other work.
Know the bots
GPTBot feeds ChatGPT, PerplexityBot feeds Perplexity, ClaudeBot feeds Claude, Google-Extended feeds Gemini. They crawl the web to learn about businesses. Block them and you cannot be pulled into an AI recommendation, no matter how strong you look everywhere else.
The setting that catches everyone
Security and bot-protection plugins, firewalls and some hosting settings block 'bots' by default, and that quietly includes the AI crawlers. Your site loads fine for customers and reads as empty to AI. Check your robots.txt too, some setups add rules that ban these agents without you knowing.
Check whether my site allows GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended in robots.txt and via any security or bot-protection tool, and flag anything blocking them.
