The best local links aren't bought, they're earned through being visible in your community. Sponsorships, local press and the businesses you already work with are sitting there waiting, most owners just never ask.
Sponsor something local
Sponsor a local team, event, school fair or charity, and you almost always get a link from their site, plus goodwill and often real referrals. It's one of the most reliable local links there is, and it puts your name in front of your exact community.
Get into the local press
Local news and blogs are always short of stories. A new hire, a milestone, a community initiative, a useful comment for a journalist, any of these can earn a mention and a link from a site Google trusts for your area. You don't need to be big, you need to be local and useful.
Mine your existing relationships
Your suppliers, partners and trade bodies often have 'where to find us' or partner pages. Ask to be listed. These links are easy, relevant, and already halfway yours because you do business together.
