Send Google the local signals it wants

Write titles and meta built for local

On-page basics, your titles, headings and meta descriptions, are a real chunk of local ranking, alongside your NAP and content. And most local sites waste them with generic titles like 'Home' or 'Welcome'. A title that names your service and your town is doing free work every generic one throws away.

The local title formula

A strong local title tag says the service and the place: 'Emergency Plumber in Brighton | 24/7 Callouts'. It matches how people search, and it tells Google exactly what the page is for. Do it per page, your homepage for your main service and town, each service page for its service, each location page for its town.

Meta descriptions earn the click

The meta description doesn't rank you, but it's your one line of ad copy in the results. Say what you do, where, and why call you, fast callouts, free quotes, years in the trade. A compelling line wins clicks off businesses ranked above you.

Every page needs a title that names your service and your town. It's the cheapest local ranking signal there is, and most of your rivals leave it blank.
