In Google Analytics, traffic from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and the other assistants shows up as referrals. Group them into one AI segment and you can finally see how many people the AIs send you, which pages they land on, and whether it's growing. It usually is.

Small but hot

AI referral traffic is smaller than Google today, but it tends to be warmer, these are people handed your name as the recommendation, already half-sold. Watching it grow tells you whether your local GEO work is landing, and it's the clearest proof that being the AI's answer pays off.
